Windows 7 is Microsoft’s latest version of its Windows operating system. Unlike its predecessor, Vista, Windows 7 offers incremental upgrades and is aimed at ensuring maximum compatibility with applications and hardware already supported in windows Vista.
Windows 7 Starter: Is designed with many fewest features but it not included Aero themes and not accessible in 64-bit variant. This version is available in almost all pre-installed computers, such as netbooks.
Windows 7 Home Basic: Home Basic version is available in a number of countries, like: Brazil, Pakistan, Colombia, the People's Republic of China, India, Russia, the Philippines, Mexico, Turkey, and Thailand. Along with several new features, some aero themes are not available in this Home Basic version.
Windows 7 Home Premium: This version is specially designed for home market segment and it includes options like Windows Aero, Windows Media Center and multi-touch support.
Windows 7 Professional:Is targeted for small business users, so it includes all the necessary features of Home Premium version, plus the capability to participate in a Windows Server domain. Additional features of this version are Remote Desktop server, Encrypting a File System, Software Restriction Policy, Presentation Mode, location aware printing, and Windows XP Mode.
Windows 7 Enterprise: This particular version of holds many special features, such as BitLockerDrive Encryption, support for Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packages, and UNIX applications support.
Windows 7 Ultimate: this version is very similar to Enterprise, but the target users of this ultimate version is home users. People who are using Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional can upgrade their system with Ultimate.
N Editions: Windows N versions are available for new purchases and also for upgrades. If you are a user of Premium, Enterprise, Ultimate and Professional versions, you can upgrade your systems with Windows N version. Even though this version holds many attractive features, it does not have a Windows Media Player.
VL Builds: The VL Builds version of Windows7work with VLKs that is Volume License Key. Volume license keys are very helpful to set off multiple installations and also to check the total number of installations in your computer.
